Gel polish removal is not the same as hard-gel removal
Identify the product before choosing removal, and resist peeling it off.

First, identify the product
Gel polish, hard gel and acrylic are not interchangeable products. British Association of Dermatologists guidance distinguishes soak-off gel polish from hard-gel systems requiring professional removal methods. If you are unsure what was used, ask the previous salon for the product name.
Avoid rushing or pulling
AAD warns that peeling or scraping gel polish can damage nails. Do not pull a lifted edge off with another nail. Discuss a method suited to that specific product with a professional; pulling harder is not a substitute for identifying it.
Follow the product instructions
FDA advises following nail-product directions and warnings. With removers, follow the specific product’s instructions and pay attention to ventilation and skin contact. This article is not a step-by-step guide to chemical removal at home.
What to mention when arranging removal
Include the current product name, whether it was done elsewhere, and whether you want removal alone or another treatment too. If a separate removal appointment is not listed, ask through the contact form before booking. Pain, inflammation or unusual changes need individual advice from a health professional.
